Appointed Principal contractor for the planning, Installation, and commissioning of an addressable networked fire alarm system and new emergency lighting at Exeter School, Brayford Avenue, Corby, within the two blocks on site.
TEC Fire & Security upgraded the fire alarm systems following the strict requirements set out in BS5839 part1 2017. The school now has a reliable system that communicates to the central station and between the 2 blocks which allows a full evacuation, with the ability to silence and reset the alarm from either block. Most importantly the safe evacuation of all pupils, staff, and visitors has now been achieved when the alarm activates.
The free swing door closers allow doors to remain open during normal times allowing free movement of pupils but then close in the event of fire activation creating fire compartments and preventing any spread of fire.
A fire alarm relay was fitted to the roller shutter within a covered area within the infant’s area. This has been programmed to raise on alarm to ensure a safe escape for both staff and pupils.
The new emergency lighting fitted to the regulations of BS 5266 Part 1 2016, is LED and much more energy efficient providing better lighting levels and saves site the issue of having to change lamps.
A great project delivered on time and a pleasure to work with all involved. Through collaboration and good communication, the above project was achieved.
Inspiring Futures through Learning are committed to ensuring that all of our schools are a safe as possible in order to ensure that our pupils and children can thrive in secure and engaging environments.
We appointed TEC Fire & Security to undertake this project as part of our capital investment program and they were very easy to work with, communicated very well throughout the project and worked flexibly to ensure that everything was completed on time and to specification.
We are very pleased with the final result and would have no hesitation in working with TEC again in the future.
